The best way to be active around Off The Grid, is probably to just be and get to know the place, gently exploring around on foot. We don’t encourage our guests to expect a filled up itinerary which has them rushing around in a vehicle.
Often people are more than content to spend time at Off The Grid, walking around, birdwatching, butterfly following, sketching, swimming, trying out our physical ba
A lovely 8km cycle ride around a nearby village and on a jungle path is ideal for a beginner mountain biker. Going beyond for the more intrepid is also a great option.
We recommend you bring your own bike but if not, we have a few, unless the previous guests broke them, from not having biked off the beaten track before.
We have walks which are best enjoyed early morning or near sunset. They could be 1-3 hours. You will enjoy amazing views and facades of the environment like never seen before.
We are happy to suggest one for you, for older folk a visit to the village is a comfortable but exhilarating option. A night walk in the stream on our property is a magical experience, shining a torch on a whole other world
There are a few waterfall treks but some may not be available all through the season. We will let you know about this option only when you come.
Dudhsagar Waterfall by railway line is a very doable trek of 13 km along the tracks to the waterfall. This trek ends at Dudhsagar station ,halfway up the ghat.
From here the return is a train ride meandering back, to the start, Castle Rock. Please email
Pottery is one of the most sought after activities at Off The Grid. A 1.5 hour session is available at the studio, provided the potters are around to guide while you try the wheel.
If you are happy to play with clay, get a feel for it and create your own ideas, you are welcome to try a bit of hand building , on your own.
This is an excursion very close to our heart as it was started by co owner of Off The Grid, John Pollard.
Rafting the rapids on the beautiful Kali river is a highly recommended trip and a blast for kids 4 feet tall and above. Dandeli is a 1.5 hour drive away, transport can be arranged to get there and back at an extra cost.
We conduct at least a few workshops each year. These could be in pottery, yoga, art, food, adventure sport, kids summer camps and more.
Our retreats are small, intimate groups working together in an environment charged with positive energy and relaxation.
Our workshops could be for a few days to weeks such as pottery courses. Yoga, art and adventure camps could also be conducted for a weekend.
Our kids summer camp is at the end of April and is a super hit. It usually books out very fast and if you are interested in the next camp, drop us a line so we can keep you posted.
Off The Grid is open from 14 November, 2024.
